Poria cocos extract, use and synthesis method
Plant extract
Poria cocos extract (Indian Bread Extract) is derived from the dried sclerotium of the Polyporaceae fungus Poria cocos (Schw.) Wolf. Poria cocos is an annual or perennial fungus. The ancient name is Fuling and Futu. Other names include Songshu, Songling, Songbaiyu, etc. The sclerotium is used as medicine. It is mainly produced in Hebei, Henan, Shandong, Anhui, Zhejiang and other places. The main ingredients of Poria cocos extract are triterpenes and polysaccharides, which have the effects of strengthening the spleen, calming the nerves, promoting diuresis, and penetrating dampness. It is used to treat spleen deficiency, poor appetite, edema and oliguria. Modern pharmacological studies have shown that Poria cocos has many pharmacological effects such as inhibiting the growth of spleen tumors and enhancing the body's immunity.

Poria contains polysaccharides, triterpenes and fatty acids. Among them, Pachymose is the main component, with a content of 84.2%. It is also reported that β-Pachyman is the main component, accounting for about 93% of the dry product. Triterpenoids include pachymic acid, turmeric acid, ling acid, scutellaria acid, pine acid, and pine acid. Fatty acids include caprylic acid and lauric acid. Other ingredients include ergosterol, gum, chitin, protein, fat, lecithin, and other ingredients.
Pharmacological effects
1. Diuretic and detumescent effects: Lingsu is a new aldosterone receptor antagonist, which is beneficial for urine excretion, restoration of renal function, and elimination of protein.
2. Effects on the digestive system: Poria triterpenoids enhance the differentiation-inducing activity of insulin, and triterpenoids themselves also have differentiation-inducing activity. Poria triterpenoids and their derivatives can inhibit vomiting caused by oral copper sulfate in frogs.
3. Stone prevention effect: Poria polysaccharides can effectively inhibit the formation and deposition of calcium oxalate crystals in rat kidneys, and have a good stone prevention effect.
4. Anti-rejection effect: Poria extract has a significant inhibitory effect on acute rejection of heterotopic heart transplantation in rats.
5. Antibacterial and antiviral effects: 100% Poria cocos extract filter paper has inhibitory effects on Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus anthracis, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus a and Streptococcus b.
6. Anticonvulsant effect: Poria cocos total triterpenes can resist maximum electric shock and pentylenetetrazol convulsions to varying degrees, which proves that Poria cocos total triterpenes have obvious anticonvulsant effects.
7. Anti-inflammatory Chemicalbook effect: Poria cocos total triterpenes have inhibitory effects on acute inflammation such as xylene-induced ear swelling in mice and permeability of abdominal capillaries in mice, and also have a strong inhibitory effect on subacute inflammation of cotton ball granuloma in rats, indicating that Poria cocos total triterpenes are one of the main effective parts of Poria cocos anti-inflammatory effect, and its mechanism may be related to the inhibition of phospholipase A2 activity by the triterpenes it contains.
8. Whitening effect: White Poria cocos has a significant inhibitory effect on tyrosinase and is a competitive inhibition. Reducing melanin production by inhibiting tyrosinase activity may be one of the mechanisms of action of whitening Chinese medicine. Functions and indications: diuresis and dampness elimination, spleen and mind invigoration. Used for edema, oliguria, phlegm and fluid, palpitations, spleen deficiency, poor appetite, loose stools, restlessness, palpitations and insomnia. It has the effects of enhancing physiological activity, stimulating the recovery of the human immune system, inducing and promoting the induction of interferon and leukocyte regulatory factors, indirectly anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, anti-rejection, reducing the side effects of radiation and chemotherapy, protecting the liver and reducing enzymes, delaying aging, calming the nerves and stomach, and beautifying the skin.
